Persian Ceiling

Overnight expedition to the Emerald City. This itinerary was a big success. The excitements of the ferry from Bainbridge Island loading and unloading, the Space Needle, the Chihuly Museum (which is new, opened in May), the monorail to downtown and Pike Place Market (which I quite loved, the produce stalls all fresh fresh arrayed with beautiful care, and people standing in the aisle with knife at the ready, offering slices of peach to passers-by.) And that was just the first day.

The day started overcast, so we went first to Chihuly Garden and Glass, hoping it might clear up before we rode up the Space Needle. Thus, accidentally, the first thing was the best, as fine a way as any to shape a day.

In the Glasshouse. Can't find out if this one has a name. It's huge. (Click for larger image.)
