Sea Voyage to Another Country

Saturday we went to Victoria to spend a few hours with P. & W. Sailing away from Port Angeles on a sunny morning, crossing the Strait aboard the jaunty ferry Coho, puttering into Victoria's harbor.

Visiting their Victoria: a drive around the shore along Dallas Road, up into Beacon Hill Park, then westward to try to see birds in Esquimalt Lagoon. Lunch in the student cafeteria at Royal Roads (why not), only swans and gulls and mallards at the lagoon.

Sunny day, though, the Olympics always across the Strait.

A quick stop at the Royal BC Museum for KB, while P. & W. and I sat on a bench out front and talked.

Then back onto Coho a bit early, so a long sunny sit on the upper deck watching harbor taxis and floatplanes and bridges and all,

and home again across an especially still Strait.

Red Ship, anchored off Victoria. Forgot to look up who she was when we got home... (Click for larger image.)
