Jonesing for Blackberries

Sun's out

and the smoke's all blown east

and blackberries are ripening on the sunny lots and corners. I've been carrying containers in the car for the last week or so, waiting, and picked some berries on my way home from the tribe this afternoon. Ate 'em all. Gotta go get more, and admire a world momentarily returned to blue.

we saw pickers today and thought about offering them money for the containers they had already picked! hubby is wanting a blackberry cobbler. guess we will go out and pick our own in the next few days.

hard to believe autumn is just around the corner. i feel it already in the air....cool in a different sort of way in the mornings and evenings. i see the light shifting in the sky. i smell firewood burning in our neighborhood at night. wayyyy too short a summer but it is ending without any votes from our home.
