I almost took a picture of that same rainbow yesterday, but the day before, I missed taking a photo of the double rainbow 'round about the same time of day. From the looks of the arrow at the end of the road, you must live down on the bluff just east of Olympic Medical Center?

West side, actually, a few blocks behind the bluff near I Street.

Beautiful shot, mb! I photographed a rainbow on Sunday too! Your photo makes me wonder what time of day this rainbow occurred. I saw my first sunset rainbow.

It was earlier than sunset, but I'm not sure what time-- camera is deluded as to date/time, and I keep failing to make the correction stick in its memory.

Lovely rainbow! All ours are in the east, as you recall, so is this a morning rainbow? viewed from east to west? On an airplane once, I sat next to a guy whose job was to make rainbows for special events. He gave me a mini-course in rainbowology, about light and angles and such.
I also enjoyed seeing the little pink tree (plum? crab?) and seeing what the houses look like in PA. Now I can imagine you walking around. Also, I finally Google mapped PA: is the long straight sided, east heading channel the Juan de Fuca? Can you recommend map service that shows labels for bodies of water and beaches so I can find the places you visit?

Mid to late afternoon. The sun is west of south, the rainbow is east of north, i.e., over the Strait of Juan de Fuca and yes it's that straightish (salt) water body connect El Pecifico Ocean to Puget Sound. Soughly. Now to find you a map with labeled bodies of water.
